Dr. McGonagle graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1999 and completed a general medical training scheme in 2002. She became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland during this time. She completed her GP training in Liverpool, leading to membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

She returned to Ireland in 2005 and worked in a wide variety of practices throughout Dublin, gaining a wealth of experience in all aspects of General Practice.

Her areas of special interest are Travel Medicine, Dermatology and Women’s Health.

Travel Medicine

She developed an interest in Travel Medicine and completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine in the RCSI. She expanded and maintained this expertise by working in Tropical Medical Bureau’ centres throughout Dublin and Galway for many years. She is also a member of the Travel Medicine Society of Ireland. She has a special interest in Dermatology, and did a 6 month post in the Dermatology department of St Vincent’s hospital Dublin, completing a Diploma in this field simultaneously. She is now a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland. Cryotherapy (freeze treatment for warts, verrucas and other skin lesions) is available to all patients.

She also holds a Diploma in Management in Practice and a Certificate in Family Planning and is a registered cervical smear taker.

It involves 2 free structured visits per year.
